How conversions work
Every linear unit is defined by its exact size in a base unit (metres, kilograms or square metres), so conversions chain through the base without rounding drift. Temperature is different because the scales have different zero points: Fahrenheit to Celsius is (°F − 32) × 5⁄9, and Kelvin is Celsius + 273.15 — a simple multiplication cannot capture the offset, so the tool handles temperature separately.
Worked example
You are buying gold and the jeweller quotes per tola, but an online rate is per gram. 10 tola × 11.6638 = 116.638 grams — so at PKR 24,000 per gram, 10 tola costs about PKR 2.8 million. Or for property: a 5-marla plot is 5 × 272.25 = about 1,361 sq ft, roughly 126.5 square metres. And for the weather: 104 °F in Jacobabad is (104 − 32) × 5⁄9 = 40 °C.

How big is a marla, exactly?
The most widely used convention — and the one this tool applies — is 272.25 sq ft (25.29 m²), with 20 marla to a kanal. Some regions historically use a 225 sq ft marla, so verify locally for property transactions.
Why can't temperature be converted with a simple multiplier?
Because the scales start at different zero points. 0 °C equals 32 °F, not 0 °F, so the conversion needs an offset as well as a scale factor: °F = °C × 9⁄5 + 32.
How precise are the results?
