What does "exact age" mean?
Most of us know our age in years, but forms, visa applications, school admissions and sports eligibility rules often need it precisely — in full years, months and days as of a given date. Working that out by hand is fiddly because months have different lengths and leap years add a day every four years. This calculator handles the calendar arithmetic for you.
How to use it

Nothing is stored or sent anywhere — the calculation runs entirely on your device using its current date.

The tricky part is borrowing: if today's day-of-month is smaller than your birth day-of-month, we borrow the actual number of days in the previous month — 28, 29, 30 or 31 — rather than a fixed 30. That is what keeps the answer exact around month ends and leap years.
Worked example
Someone born on 15 May 1990 checks their age on 19 July 2026. Days: 19 − 15 = 4. Months: July (7) − May (5) = 2. Years: 2026 − 1990 = 36. Exact age: 36 years, 2 months, 4 days — roughly 13,214 days lived. Their next birthday, 15 May 2027, is 300 days away.
When is this useful?
Filling government forms (CNIC, passport, visa applications often ask age in years/months/days), checking exam or job age-limit eligibility (many Pakistani public-sector jobs have cut-offs "as of" a specific date), calculating a child's age for school admission, or just settling the family debate about who is older and by exactly how much. How are leap years handled?
The calculator uses real calendar dates, so 29 February and leap years are handled automatically. Someone born on 29 February gets their exact age counted against actual calendar days.
Why does my age in months differ from other websites?
A few sites approximate months as 30 days. This tool borrows the true length of the previous month when subtracting days, which is the standard convention and matches how ages are counted for official purposes.
Can I calculate age at a past or future date?
This page always measures against today. For an age 'as of' another date, use our date difference calculator and enter your date of birth and the target date.
Is my date of birth stored anywhere?
No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser; nothing is transmitted, logged or saved. Reloading the page clears the field.
What time zone is used?
Your device's local date. If it is already your birthday in your time zone, the countdown says 'today' regardless of time zones elsewhere.
